Polish citizenship is passed down via bloodline, or “jus sanguinis.”
Which means the when a Polish person has a child, the child is automatically considered a Polish citizen. Thus, if your parents were Polish, you were born Polish. This is true for your grandparents or your great grandparents.
However, the Polish ancestors must not have been naturalized, or changed their citizenships before the birth of the next child. Thus, the parents must have been Polish at the time of birth of the child.
In order to apply, you will need the birth certificates and marriage certificates of your Polish relative(s), and for each of the family members between you and that relative.
