Citizens of the USA Traveling to Europe

Citizens of the USA are usually automatically granted a 90 day visa upon arrival to Europe, which is valid for any 180 day period (in practice, this means that a USA citizen may arrive in Europe, stay for about three months, leave for three months, and then come back for another three months, etc.)

Some areas of Europe are outside of the Schengen Zone and do not adhere to the same visa policy for USA citizens. For example, countries such as England and Croatia are in Europe, but travel to these areas does not count to the total number of days a USA citizen may stay. England, for example, allows USA citizens to visit for six months at a time, instead of just 90 days.

In the same example as above, a person can go visit England for six months, go to another Schengen country (such as Spain) for the next three months, go back to England for three months, etc.
